1. Turn on the curling iron and let it heat up while you brush through your hair thoroughly. (Note: If your hair tends to get very curly, but not frizzy, after you get it wet, then wet it completely. If your hair does not get curly when wet then use the curling iron.)

2. Now part your hair down the middle evening out your bangs on each side. Then use your fingers to gently pull your hair back starting at your crown or about 3” from forehead. (Take a look at the picture if you are confused)

3. Allow the first 3” of hair that you left parted above the forehead to fall naturally at the sides, and tuck behind the ears. (When finished so they don’t get in the way. For now just let them hang or clip them so they say out of the way)

4. Separate your hair into about 1 inch sections and start to curl each section. Start curling at the roots of your hair (Be careful, the iron is hot! Don’t touch your head!) all the way down the ends of your hair. Hold in for about 30-60 seconds. Hairspray gently after each curl. Do this to your entire head including the hair you left in the front.

5. After you finish curling your hair gather up the hair in the back (all of your hair that you pulled back at your crown except for the pieces in the front) of your hair (like you are pulling it into a ponytail) and take a hair band and pull it into a ponytail, but not a low one. Take a look at the picture and you can get an idea of where it is.

6. Then twist your ponytail up in a french twist and place it up against the back of your head so that the ends of your hair are facing up and are just loosely spraying up sort of like a fountain. Secure your ponytail with many bobby pins until it stays up in place.

7. Spray your loose strands in front lightly with hair spray. Tuck behind the ears, or let them hang loosely.

8. Leave any access wisps of hair hanging as seen in the picture because this is sort of a laid back messy look.

9. Fluff up your pony tail to let the natural curls fall. You can also just run your fingers through your pony tail but don’t brush anything or else the curls will come out. Spray one last finishing coat of hairspray to keep your hair in place. Be sure you turn off the curling iron!! You’re done!! Enjoy!!!
